Achievements
  • A novel, single step, economical and ecofriendly process for the preparation of terpinyl esters from pinenes has been developed on 1.0 kg scale. The process has been patented and released to the industry.
  • A simple method has been developed for the preparation of isolongifolene from longifolene.
A continuous microwave irradiation method for the production of trimethoxy benzoic acid and its ester from gallic acid and gallotannins and a batch process for the production of isoeugenol from Clocimum oil have been developed.
  • Processes for the production of Aescin form Aesculus indica and piperine from Piper nigrum seeds have been developed.
A single step process has been developed for the preparation of alkoxybenzoic acid.
Based on a new oligospirostonoside isolated from Asparagus racemosus, its extract having significant immunomodulatory activity has been standerdized. This marker compound is further being investigated as an excellent single molecule, immunomodulatory agent.
  • RRL, Jammu has reported for the first time significant antioxidant and free radical scavenging activity from an aqueous extract of Terminalia chebula. The extract has been standardized on the basis of two marker compounds isolated from this plant.
